I love how God speaks to us through nature. I was sitting outside last night, and this fearless butterfly kept landing on and around me. I wondered what divine message it might carry, since it wouldn’t leave me alone. Sometimes, I’ll just pray, “Lord, are You speaking through this?” I realized the butterfly was missing a good part of one wing. It didn’t look like it should be able to fly, but here it was, fluttering all over the place. (The picture is blurry because I couldn’t capture a still moment!) I’m immediately reminded of the way God seems to delight in making the impossible possible. The person whose healing baffles doctors. The isolated soul who finds connection. The enslaved addict who discovers new life. The cynic whose bitter heart is suddenly filled with hope. The fearful wanderer who turns into a courageous warrior. The underdog who takes the victory. Things aren’t always what they seem. Remember this when you’re facing a giant in your life. As 2 Corinthians 5:7 reminds us, “We live by believing, not by seeing.” We’re often bombarded by the doubt of the world, by the discouragement of the enemy, by our own fear of what we see. But the world, and the enemy, and our feelings – they don’t have the last word. Our God has the last word. Don't be afraid to believe! Whatever you’re believing for may take time; it may not even play out in the way you’re hoping, but if you take that step of faith, God will show up, often in unexpected ways, to sustain you and remind you that He’s in it with you, all the way. He makes the impossible possible simply by entering into our daily lives – the Creator of the universe living among us – what could be more miraculous than that?
