One of the most beautiful things about hitting rock bottom is that every false thing about you burns away. Anything you’ve used to define yourself in the past, anything you’ve become attached to, anything you put your hope in – it all crumbles right there and you’re left with nothing but your naked self. And at some point, once you’ve finally surrendered, you may hear a quiet voice that sounds something like: “I love you, and I’ll never let you go.” (Or maybe you're hearing that for the first time right now.) And it may be the sweetest thing you ever hear, breathing life into what you thought was the end of you. It may become clear to you, finally, what the purpose of your life has been all along. To receive God’s unconditional love, to love Him back, and to share that love with the world. Everything else can take its place after that. This car tag appeared in my house one day, and no one knows where it came from. It’s a daily reminder of my mission, and maybe it's part of yours too!
